Raspberry rinspot virus

Raspberry ringspot virus (RpRSV) is also a causative agent of the fanleaf disease of grapevine in Germany. The complete nucleotide sequences of two isolates from grapevine, the RpRSV-cherry strain and the RpRSV-grapevine strain, were determined. Full-length infectious clones of both genomic RNAs of RpRSV-grapevine have been constructed under the control of the 35S promoter. The suitability of these clones as vectors for the expression of foreign genes in Nicotiana benthamianas and grapevine is currently evaluated.
