Lettuce yellow mottle rhabdovirus

The molecular characterisation of a new cytorhabdovirus infecting lettuce, isolated near Valence (France) by H. Lot (INRA Avignon, France), is currently underway. The virus genome has been fully sequenced. Sequence comparisons with other plant rhabdoviruses revealed that it is a new species of cytorhabdovirus, and the name Lettuce yellow mottle virus (LYMoV) has been suggested.
